RFS Issues Poster Contest

The Resident and Fellow Section of the Pennsylvania Medical Society invites members to submit abstracts for the poster presentation at the 2008 Annual House of Delegates meeting this October at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey. Poster set up is Oct. 24 and 25 and judging is on Oct. 25.

Deadline for submission: Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Submission Rules

1. Deadline for abstract submission is August 12, 2008.
2. All submissions must be original works by individuals actively engaged in residency or fellowship training.
3. Authors of selected entries must be in attendance during the judging session to discuss their submissions.
4. Authors may submit a maximum of one entry per category.

New Rule for 2008

This year we are requiring participants to be members of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. All residents and fellows are entitled to one free year of membership, so this requirement should not stop anyone from participating. To join go to www.pamedsoc.org/membership.

To enter the poster contest, use the official online abstract form. If submitting by mail or fax, the submission may not exceed 400 words, double-spaced. Titles, authors, and institution affiliations are not included in the word count. Include a telephone number, mailing address, and email address.

Cash awards will be given in clinical and basic science categories. Judging of the posters will be based on the following standards:

1. Scientific Merit
2. Illustrative Material
3. Quality of Delivery and Discussion
4. Originality
