Objectives

  • Describe the pathophysiology of propofol infusion syndrome (PRIS)
  • Identify common priming and triggering factors for PRIS
  • Identify patients who are most at risk for PRIS

  • Identify what constitutes safe practice with fentanyl transdermal system
  • Describe strategies healthcare providers can use to help promote safe use of fentanyl transdermal system.
  • Describe contributing factors to errors involving the use of fentanyl transdermal system
