More about PAMPAC

What does PAMPAC do?

PAMPAC uses member contributions to support the election and retention of pro-medicine candidates. PAMPAC also campaigns against vulnerable incumbent legislators who consistently vote against the interests of patients and physicians. For example, PAMPAC:

  • Played a pivotal role in the November 2004 election of Bob Regola over state Senator Allen Kukovich, who for 22 years repeatedly voted against the interests of physicians
  • Broadened its candidate support program in early 2001 to include judicial candidates vying for statewide appellate court vacancies
  • Provided unprecedented financial support and an extensive grassroots network in the election of Supreme Court Justice Mike Eakin, whose influence, along with other like-minded justices, can be credited with much of the Supreme Court’s recent adoption of pro-medicine court rules

Through PAMPAC, you can have a highly visible impact on the election process and help shape the future of reforms such as medical liability, patients’ rights legislation, and insurance contract reform.

Although PAMPAC has not endorsed candidates in the statewide primary elections for governor, Lt. governor or U.S. senator, the responses provided by five candidates for governor to fourteen questions on health care issues are available at www.pamedsoc.org/gov.

I navigated to the PAMPAC web site this mornig (5/18/10, election day) to see who PAMPAC supports/endorses. I can't find the info. Why is that not front and center?

I am not a member of PA med society but would like to donate to PAMPAC. To be clear--I wish to donate to PAMPAC but do not wish to join PAMED society in order to do so. It does not appear this can be done. Please explain what the rational for this would be.It seems you are limiting your donation pool.
