CIGNA Providers Have 90 Days from Date of Service to Submit Claims Starting Nov. 1

Effective Nov. 1, 2011, CIGNA providers will only have 90 days from the date of service to submit claims for reimbursement. If you do not notify CIGNA of any objections by August 31, 2011, they will assume that you accept this change in your provider agreement.

Objections should include a copy of the letter CIGNA sent to its providers and be sent to:
CIGNA
Attention: Elyse Bendana

If the CIGNA-administrated plan is the secondary payer, claims should be submitted to CIGNA within 90 days from the date the physician receives the explanation of payment from the primary payer.
