Article 2: Confirming Feeding Tube Placement: Old Habits Die Hard
- Recognize that traditional feeding tube placement verification methods may not be as reliable as current, evidence-based practices for verification
- Identify general patient risk factors for potential tube misplacement.
- Identify risk reduction strategies that may reduce the risk of tube misplacement.
Article 3: Let’s Stop the Bleeding: Preventing Errors with Heparin Therapy
- Identify potential errors involving heparin and propose recommendations to lessen their impact.
- Review specific causes of medication errors with the use of heparin and propose recommendations to avoid these causes.
- Identify potential errors with heparin products due to look-alike labeling and propose recommendations to lessen their impact.
